About Dr. Upkar

Dr. Upkar Chumber is an Associate Consultant in General, Laparoscopic & Minimal Access Surgery, with a strong academic and clinical background in the management of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, colorectal, trauma and general surgical conditions.

He completed his MBBS from Adesh Medical College, Bathinda, followed by his M.S. in General Surgery from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana. During his postgraduate training, he gained extensive exposure to gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, colorectal and trauma surgery, along with perioperative and critical surgical care.

His clinical experience includes assisting and performing complex gastrointestinal and trauma procedures under senior consultant supervision, along with exposure to minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has also assisted in cadaveric and living donor liver transplant surgeries.

Earlier, during his tenure as a Junior Resident at AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. Upkar gained valuable experience in high-volume emergency care, including rapid assessment, stabilization and resuscitation of critically ill patients. He has also been actively involved in surgical research, academic discussions, clinical audits and resident teaching.

With a systematic approach to surgical care, Dr. Upkar focuses on appropriate clinical evaluation, evidence-based decision-making and comprehensive perioperative management to ensure safe and effective treatment for his patients.
